    Overview:

    The Software Certification Analyst position within the Implementation and Onboarding Services Team is responsible for the end to end testing of Blackhawk payment processing services for internal customers and external Blackhawk Network partners. This includes but not limited to: certification testing of the software development release for internal and external clients, troubleshooting and resolving test issues, and working directly with other integration engineers, systems engineers, project / implementation managers, and QA engineers as required by the project requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review client requirements, messaging specifications, and other requirements documentation to understand the software requirements and tailor test plans accordingly
    • Define and refine test cases to correspond with business and technical requirements and future enhancements
    • Facilitate client facing end to end testing from the initial test session through any follow up retest sessions
    • Execute test cases against software requirements across multiple systems and platforms as outlined in the test plan
    • Create and execute SQL queries to retrieve transactional data sets for analysis and problem solving
    • Capture transaction logs to accompany test execution results
    • Generate reconciliation data files and review for accuracy as per the software requirements and test plan
    • Maintain and utilize defect tracking tools to capture test results and organize in a readable format
    • Document test results including any approved exceptions and provide signoff when the solution meets all BHN technical standards
    • Communicate test results and overall status to the stakeholders (team, sponsor, client etc.)
    • Create and maintain simulation and automation test suite to automate manual and repeatable tasks
    • Maintain current knowledge of Blackhawk Network API’s, payment services, and best practices to convey relevant use cases and test scenarios
    • Assist the Engineering and Partner Support organizations with application troubleshooting to help identify root cause and resolution of production code related issues
    • Work with the cert manager resolve conflicting requests from customers and ensure a high level of support

    Qualifications:

    Required Skills:

     

    • 2+ years of experience in the role of Software Certification Analyst or related Quality Assurance role
    • Experience with automated scripting tools and programming languages
    • Experience with automated API testing tools e.g. SOAP UI
    • Experience with Linux or other Unix like operating systems
    • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to present technical information, status, and issues in English and in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical parties
    • Excellent time management and organization skills with an aptitude toward creative problem solving.
    • Strong initiative and flexible to change and understand the impact on the organization and business
    • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast changing environment
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively within a matrix, 'virtual' environment
    • Strong technical services orientation and mindset – focused on identifying and surpassing client needs and expectations
    • Flexible work schedule to accommodate client certification engagements in different time zones
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other technical degree is preferred or equivalent work experience

     

    Desired Skills:

     

    • 1+ years of experience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline), especially with Point of Sale systems, payments gateways and payment processors
    • 2+ years’ experience with Technologies including Web Services, REST, SOAP, and FTP/SFTP.
    • 2+ years’ experience with Databases (MySQL, DB2)
    • 2+ years’ experience with two or more major programming languages (e.g. Bash, Ruby, C++, ASP, Java, VBScript,.NET, PHP, Perl)
    • 2+ years’ experience in XML parsers like DOM or SAX, XML Schemas (XSD) and Web Servers like JBOSS, APACHE, and/or Jetty.
    • Experience with ISO8583 message format
    • Desired exposure from a testing viewpoint of current e-commerce and evolving business solutions.
    • Fluent in languages other than English
