    The Staff System Support Engineer position is part of the Hawk Redeem Product Engineering team.  This team is chartered with developing and supporting the Hawk Redeem product platforms, leveraging superior technical and business skills, aggressive work ethic and common sense within the framework of a streamlined process.


    • Identify, troubleshoot, and leverage all available resources to resolve production related issues and communicate issues to development groups and management as required.
    • Ensure daily scheduled batch processing, incoming/outgoing data feeds, reporting, and document generation jobs are completed successfully and on time.
    • Utilize monitoring tools and creative pro-active monitoring practices to ensure system availability, functionality, and performance 24/7.
    • Propose and implement additional process controls and dashboards as needed.
    • Provide defect fixes to core J2EE enterprise Synergy application.
    • Works with product engineering teams to ensure that configuration and support of software releases are properly documented, understood and transitioned; question missing or incomplete items, and propose new requirements if justified.
    • Keep knowledge base wiki pages up to date.
    • Ensure escalated issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.

    • 2+ total years of IT-related experience, including application support, batch-based/web-based database application development (coding and testing), and SDLC procedures and processes.
    • Experience with relational database schema design, stored procedures, and SQL.
    • Experience with UNIX shell scripting.
    • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form
    • Working knowledge of Enterprise Java applications (J2EE).
    • Experience with ASP or JSP, HTML, JavaScript preferred
    • Experience with J2EE technologies including Javascript, XML, XSL, Web services, EJB and Servlets preferred
    • At least 2 years’ experience interacting with internal and external users via verbal and written communication.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as a member of a team
    • Ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.



    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
