As the payments landscape evolves, we recognize the importance of delivering exceptional cardholder experiences across all touchpoints. We are seeking a VP of Product focused on Cardholder Experience to lead and enhance our consumer-facing initiatives, ensuring our products not only meet but exceed the expectations of today's digitally savvy consumers. This role will be instrumental in driving innovation, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding our footprint in the mobile and digital wallet space.

 

This leader will own the strategic vision and execution for a critical product portfolio, driving both market competitiveness and long-term profitability. This senior leadership role requires a seasoned product executive who can balance big-picture strategy with operational excellence—overseeing product lifecycles from conception through delivery while maintaining close alignment with executive leadership on organizational goals. With responsibility for managing global teams and substantial resource allocation, this position shapes the future direction of our technology products and ensures they deliver exceptional value to customers and the business alike.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Strategy and Roadmap: Own the product strategy, roadmap, and full lifecycle for the cardholder experience portfolio, ensuring alignment with BHN's broader business objectives
  • Product Oversight: Oversee product management activities with a focus on quality, market competitiveness, and clear communication with senior leadership on progress and priorities
  • Financial Planning: Formulate and execute long-term plans for cost optimization and profitability
  • Team Leadership: Build and develop a team of product managers focused on delivering superior cardholder experiences across mobile and web platforms
  • Strategic Development: Drive the vision and roadmap for BHN's cardholder experience, emphasizing innovation from concept (zero-to-one) to execution
  • Mobile and Digital Wallet Integration: Leverage existing relationships and establish new partnerships with key players at major wallet and payment platforms to enhance our mobile offerings
  • Network Business Models: Develop and implement strategies for working with partners and brands, focusing on pricing strategies and maximizing mutual value
  • Experimentation and Innovation: Employ advanced experimentation techniques to test value propositions and hypotheses, ensuring our products resonate with target audiences
  • Consumer Product Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of consumer financial and wallet products to inform product development and enhancement initiatives
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, marketing, design, and business leadership to align on vision and strategy, driving cohesive efforts toward shared goals
  • Market Analysis: Monitor industry trends, conduct competitive analyses, and identify opportunities for differentiation and growth in the cardholder experience space
  • Design Thinking Advocacy: Champion design thinking methodologies across teams to foster user-centric product development and innovation
  • Influence and Leadership: Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills, working effectively with internal partners to drive initiatives forward

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in product management with 5+ years in senior management leading large, global product teams
  • Consumer Financial Products: Proven track record in developing and managing consumer financial or wallet products, with a deep understanding of user needs and market trends
  • Mobile Expertise: Demonstrated experience in mobile product development, particularly with integration into platforms like Apple Wallet and Google Pay, including established relationships within these ecosystems
  • Strategic Partnership Skills: Strong ability to work within network business models, collaborating with partners and brands to create mutually beneficial strategies and pricing models
  • Innovation and Experimentation: Skilled in employing experimentation techniques to test and validate product hypotheses and value propositions effectively
  • Zero-to-One Product Development: Experience building products from the ground up, taking ideas from concept through successful market launch
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and high performance
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Ability to work with internal partners across functions, demonstrating strong influencing skills to align teams and drive initiatives
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate market shifts and adapt strategies accordingly, ensuring BHN remains at the forefront of the industry
  • Communication: Excellent ability to articulate vision and strategy to stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Roadmap and Resource Management: Ability to manage short- and long-term roadmaps, forecasting resource requirements to deliver quality products and services
  • AI Fluency: Demonstrated experience using AI tools effectively in the context of this role

Benefits:

Salary Range for California Residents Only: $266,760.00 to $373,484.00

Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $202,850.00 to $284,000.00

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2026, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
