Overview:

We are looking to hire an accomplished Full-stack Software Engineer. You will be responsible for designing, architecting, and developing client facing applications for BHN Development Productivity Platform. The desired candidate will have an excellent understanding of web and cloud infrastructure technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Java (Spring/Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI) in a microservices architecture
  • Apply creative design, analytical and problem-solving skills to build developer experiences that meet aesthetic, functional and technical requirements
  • Architect and implement cloud-native solutions using AWS services with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm)
  • Build and integrate RESTful APIs and web services, ensuring seamless communication between application front-ends and server-side components
  • Design and implement scalable backend systems on AWS leveraging containers (EKS, ECS, Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
  • Ensure security, performance, and scalability of Development Productivity Platform products throughout their entire lifecycle
  • Collaborate with Cloud Platform Team to maintain robust CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design deficiencies, bugs, and performance issues identified by stakeholders and QA teams
  • Actively participate as a core member of an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with product owners, designers, and business stakeholders
  • Engage in all Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 8+ years of software development experience using object-oriented programming with Java (Spring Framework, Spring Boot) or Python (FastAPI)
  • 3+ years developing Full Stack Applications with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • 3+ years building cloud-based applications on AWS with REST APIs
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform, Helm) for infrastructure provisioning
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration: Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Docker
  • Proficiency with AWS services: Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), Redis, and other managed services
  • Experience with relational databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server
  • Proven track record working in Agile Scrum environments
  • Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket Pipelines)
  • Strong understanding of multi-tier architecture, microservices patterns, and distributed systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with excellent interpersonal, motivational, and collaboration skills

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline

Preferred:

  • Experience with both Java and Python tech stacks
  • Knowledge of caching strategies and Redis implementation
  • Version control with Git and Bitbucket workflows
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers
