Overview:

We're looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter to lead engineering and technology hiring across the US, Europe, and UK. You'll partner directly with hiring managers to build technical teams, have responsibilitiy for the full recruiting process, and maintain the high standards that keep our engineering bar where it needs to be.

This role requires someone who will work proactively and run disciplined processes while always delivering excellent candidate and hiring manager experiences. You'll work across time zones with global teams and be accountable for both quality and speed.

Our ideal person is someone who combines the rigor of a structured, data-driven recruiting environment (think FAANG-scale process, predictability, and data-driven decisionmaking) with the flexibility to thrive in a fast-changing, less structured organization. BHN isn’t a startup, but we often move like one (scrappy, dynamic, and evolving) and you’ll need to bring the right level of order and discipline without losing speed.

You'll report directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition and partner directly with engineering leadership to fill our current slate of technical positions. Your immediate priorities include staff and principal software engineers, platform engineers, enterprise application specialists, and technical product managers.

We're building technical leadership depth across platform engineering, core software development, and product technology. Most of our open roles are senior+ level, requiring candidates who can both execute and influence technical direction. You'll spend significant time on principal and staff-level searches where the candidate pool is smaller and the evaluation process more nuanced. AI is part of the toolkit here and we expect you to use it to work smarter, source deeper, and keep the process moving.

You'll excel here if you

  • Prefer building trusted partnerships with hiring managers over transactional interactions
  • Can elegantly apply a little pressure ("soft elbows") to move things along while still keeping it collaborative and respectful
  • You’ve operated at scale in a structured, data-driven recruiting environment, and you know how to apply those same standards in a less structured, fast-changing one

  • You like putting order around chaos: building process, enforcing discipline, and still moving fast enough to keep hiring momentum

  • Focus on candidate quality over volume. Volume matters, but you'd rather present three excellent candidates than ten average ones
  • Proactively source rather than reactively wait for applications
  • See AI as essential to the modern workplace and actively experiment with new tools
  • Keep detailed records in the ATS and use data to optimize your approach
  • Move quickly to maintain candidate momentum while ensuring we're doing a thorough evaluation
  • Can balance a disciplined process with appropriate flexibility when situations require it

Responsibilities:

  • Own end-to-end recruiting for engineering, security, infrastructure, and product-adjacent roles
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and push back when expectations need calibration
  • Build talent pipelines through direct sourcing, competitive intelligence, and network activation
  • Apply AI tools and automation to improve sourcing efficiency, screening accuracy, and communication speed
  • Screen candidates rigorously and advance only those who meet our technical and cultural standards
  • Structure interview processes, prepare interviewers, and enforce feedback timelines
  • Maintain clean ATS data and provide regular pipeline reporting with actionable insights
  • Keep all stakeholders informed with clear, timely communication throughout the process

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years recruiting for technical roles, with preference for fintech, payments, or high-growth consumer tech experience
  • Proven track record closing senior engineering hires in competitive markets, particularly at principal and staff levels
  • Advanced sourcing capabilities across multiple channels (LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Boolean search, referral networks)
  • Hands-on experience with AI recruiting tools for sourcing, screening, or candidate engagement
  • Experience recruiting in both structured, large-scale environments (think FAANG, top tech firms, or equivalent) and more dynamic, less structured companies where speed and adaptability matter
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders and hiring managers to drive alignment and raise the hiring bar
  • Strong ATS discipline (iCIMS experience preferred) and comfort with data-driven reporting
  • Experience managing recruiting processes across multiple time zones

Benefits:

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays throughout the year 2025, sick pay accrual according to state law, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
