You'll lead a handpicked team of four high-potential college graduates in Coppell plus a second team in India. Your leadership will directly shape the foundation of Blackhawk's next-generation Identity Platform. This is a system that touches nearly every product being developed across the company. As a critical, high-priority role for senior leadership, you'll report to our Director of Engineering with strong executive sponsorship. The platform serves as a strategic cornerstone with visibility across Product and Engineering. Deep identity experience is highly valued but not required; if you're a strong technical manager with Java background and experience leading backend or platform teams, you'll ramp quickly while partnering with seasoned architects who bring identity-specific expertise.

• 10+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years in leadership roles
• 5+ years of hands-on professional experience building commercial products with Java programming language
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of delivering complex technical solutions
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with experience managing distributed teams
• Proven ability to mentor and develop engineering talent
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
• Industry certifications related to software engineering, cloud technologies, or identity management
• Experience with fintech, payments, or identity platforms
• Background in agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
