You will build different parts of our payment network, that have high scale, precision and availability requirements. You will be constantly leveraging cutting edge technologies on the cloud, and application stacks to build efficient systems. Responsibilities:

 

  • Preferred Skills

    • AWS Certifications, such as:
      • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
      • Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional
      • SysOps Administrator
    • Some experience working with Java-based applications
    • Experience with event-driven architectures using:
      • SNS, SQS, Lambda, Step Functions
    • Exposure to cost optimization strategies and billing analysis in AWS
    • Experience with Java build tools and dependency managers (e.g., Maven, Gradle)
    • Experience with blue/green or canary deployment strategies
  • Soft Skills

    • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
    • Commitment to automation, documentation, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

 

  • Qualifications and Responsibilities

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, Computer Science, or a related field
    • 4+ years of hands-on experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Engineering role
    • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python and Bash
    • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
    • Experience in translating business requirements into functional, deployable, and maintainable application modules using tools like BitBucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, and AWS
    • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms
    • Knowledge of web servers and application frameworks such as Apache and Tomcat
    • Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
    • Solid understanding of Linux system administration, networking, and cloud security best practices
    • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, X-Ray, AWS Config, New Relic)
    • Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git

Benefits:

Salary Range for California Residents Only: $115,800.00 to $156,340.00

Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $89,620.00 to $121,000.00

 

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, Blackhawk Network offers benefits including 401k with employer match, medical, dental, vision, 12 paid holidays in the year 2025, 1 hour of sick pay accrual for every 30 hours worked, parental leave, life insurance, disability insurance, accident and illness insurance, health and dependent care flexible spending accounts, wellness benefits, and flexible time off for all full-time employees.
