Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Front-End Lead Engineer to join our growing e-commerce team. This role leads the front-end development of a high-traffic, multi-region digital gift card platform, requiring both a strategic mindset and hands-on expertise to drive innovation, scalability, and performance across our customer-focused digital experiences.

The ideal candidate is a frontend expert with deep experience in React, headless CMS architecture, site performance optimization, and SEO best practices. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture, driving best practices, and delivering scalable, performant, and accessible user experiences across web platforms.

Site performance, Core Web Vitals, privacy, accessibility, and SEO are top priorities. You will be the technical driver ensuring all KPIs are not just met, but exceeded.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of responsive, high-performance user interfaces using React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
  • Build and maintain a shared design system to drive consistency across products.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to transform design concepts into functional user interfaces, maintaining brand consistency and optimizing for various devices and screen sizes.
  • Conduct detailed code reviews, performance profiling, and continuous optimizations.
  • Architect and drive the transition from Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to a modern headless CMS ecosystem.
  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in front-end technologies, SEO, web analytics, and tooling.
  • Contribute to deployment processes, CI/CD pipelines, and performance monitoring practices.
  • A technical mentor to junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Champion Core Web Vitals, performance benchmarks, accessibility, and security standards across the platform.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and backend engineers, to deliver cohesive solutions that align with business goals.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in front-end engineering, including hands-on leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • Expert in React, Material-UI, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-based architecture.
  • Proven experience with headless CMS solutions and performance-driven web development.
  • Deep knowledge of Core Web Vitals, strategies to boost SEO, WCAG accessibility, privacy, and security practices.
  • Experience with Node.js for server-side rendering and service integration.
  • Solid understanding of REST APIs, asynchronous data flows, and API-driven UIs.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of Devops strategies - Push on Green, and modern front-end build tools.
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools and using insights to drive UI/UX improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset for driving technical innovation.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Benefits:

Salary Range for California Residents Only: $157,030.00 to $212,000.00

Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $125,100.00 to $168,900.00
