Overview:

We are inventing the future of gift cards, an $800 billion annual industry in the United States. Reporting to the VP of Product Management, you will help Blackhawk Networks—the world leader in gift cards—build future value propositions and experiences for a global industry worth $3 trillion that touches billions of customers annually.

To help lead the transformation of our industry and the evolution of our product portfolio, we are seeking a customer-obsessed and data-driven senior product manager.  Our ideal candidate brings the technical depth and communication skills needed to drive product excellence in a high-performance culture. To be successful in this role, you must be able to combine strategic thinking with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring world-class experiences through every customer touchpoint.

The role focuses on building upon existing foundations to integrate requirements, prioritize customer needs, and help the business drive product evolution. Operating within our team’s flat, highly collaborative structure, you will lead through influence rather than hierarchical authority. Customer obsession should extend to treating internal stakeholders with the same care as external customers.

Responsibilities:

This role has three main responsibilities with distinct phases:

  • Lead the team in documenting where we are (First few months): The ideal candidate brings deep experience documenting complex products and extracting detailed requirements, user stories, and epics. They excel at building comprehensive documentation of existing products while collaborating with established teams.
  • Collaboratively lead the optimization of the existing product portfolio (Next few months): The ideal candidate brings an ability to use customer obsession, data-based decision making, and product management best practices to improve product NPS, improve CSAT, and drive organic product growth. They understand the metrics that drive product-led growth and can help others understand the same.
  • Collaboratively define the future (Ongoing primary focus): Help us shape and bring to life our vision for the future of gift cards, contributing to an industry redefining initiative that will redefine gifting and self-service value exchanges.

To fulfill these responsibilities, our ideal candidate will have the following skills:

Product Leadership & Innovation

  • Our ideal candidate combines deep product expertise with exceptional stakeholder management, treating both internal teams and external customers as partners in innovation.
  • Ability to create clear, actionable insights from customers and data that meet the highest standards of product management.
  • Ability to lead and coach others who are looking to improve their product management abilities.

Technical Skills & Problem Solving

  • Proficient in the Atlassian suite, Figma, Canva, Google Analytics, Hotjar, and Qualtrics (or the ability to rapidly learn).
  • Ability to transform complex workflows into elegant, simple solutions - both conceptually for stakeholder understanding and operationally for reduced complexity.
  • A proven track record of cross-functional product leadership, working seamlessly with design, engineering, product marketing, operations, project management teams, and executives.

Cross-Functional & Global Leadership

  • This is a global role so please have a proven track record collaborating with teams across Europe, India, and Central America. You will manage your own schedule to support global collaboration effectively while delivering excellent results.
  • Demonstrated comfort using AI tools like Claude to accelerate their workflow and drive productivity.
  • Emotional intelligence is mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • +8 years of product management experience in the consumer software or services space.
  • Familiarity with the prepaid/financial services industries a plus.
  • Strong sense of design and usability issues.
  • Excellent grasp of technology issues related to software development.
  • Track record of problem solving and creativity.
  • Experience with fast-paced agile processes preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
