Overview:

The Assoc. Product Manager will lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful product launches and ongoing performance. You will assist in product planning, strategy, and development, working closely with internal teams to define use cases, business/functional requirements, and success criteria. With a focus on API product management, you will drive go-to-market activities, manage the full product lifecycle, and ensure platform capabilities align with business objectives. This role requires strong collaboration with senior managers, engineers, and stakeholders to oversee Blackhawk's Core Platform Services across multiple product lines.

Responsibilities:

  • Transform product strategy into well-articulated business requirements. Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform product direction. 
  • Align platform capabilities with the larger company vision. 
  • Deep understanding of API development, modern integration methods, and best practices. Processing platforms experience is a plus. 
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of the Core platform APIs. Focus on ease of understanding and integration. 
  • Champion the development of a state-of-the-art API developer portal, exceeding industry standards. 
  • Develop comprehensive guides and documentation for seamless API integration. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the developer community. Gather feedback to ensure their needs are met.  
  • Engage closely with adjacent and cross-functional teams. Ability and willingness to work with globally distributed teams and partners. 
  • Leadership through influence. Motivating cross-functional product development teams through meaningful roadmaps to success. 
  • Conduct usability studies to identify opportunities. Drive improvements and refinements. 
  • Define and ship products iteratively in an agile environment. 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA is a plus. 
  • 2+ years of relevant experience with bringing API-led products to market.
  • Proven experience executing to a product roadmap using Scrum/Agile methodologies.  
  • Experience in market analysis and business case development, solution design. 
  • Positive attitude and collaborative approach to problem-solving. 
  • Excellent written and spoken communication, including experience in communicating to senior leadership. 
  • Fantastic problem-solving skills, analytical horsepower, and attention to detail. 
  • Solid understanding of relevant technology, APIs, cloud solutions, and programming languages. 
  • Strong product design skills, focusing on technical API and user interface design. 
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with a solid technical background. 
  • Understanding of the Prepaid/Gift Cards/Payments space is a plus. 
  • Experience with cloud computing, service-oriented architecture, microservices, and event-driven architecture is a plus. 

Benefits:

Salary Range for California Residents Only: $101,140.00 to $131,500.00

Salary Range for Illinois Residents Only: $78,220.00 to $101,700.00
