Overview:

As the Manager of Engineering at Blackhawk Network, you will play a crucial role in our technology division, leading and guiding multiple scrum teams focused on Direct-to-Consumer ecommerce sites. You will be responsible for facilitating technical deep dives, overseeing high- and low-level design processes, and conducting reviews. Your experience, leadership, and hands-on approach will be instrumental in optimizing our technology solutions and delivering outstanding results. Additionally, knowledge of Adobe Commerce, AEM, and AEP will be highly valuable in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the senior engineering management team and other cross-functional management teams to ensure high-quality integrated software solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Lead, manage and mentor multiple scrum teams in the development and maintenance of Direct-to-Consumer ecommerce sites.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Drive software development efforts from architecture to release.
  • Attract and recognize talented engineers while cultivating an agile, high-performance software development organization.
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to build a strong, collaborative partnership that helps deliver software aligned with business objectives.
  • Contribute ideas and recommendations to the product roadmap based on industry trends and encourage transparency with each team's release plans, progress, and impediments.
  • Ensure the team sustains the quality of their software by using practices including test-driven development, unit testing, and pair programming.
  • Work across the organization to help align the software development technology vision.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience as an Engineering Manager in an ecommerce environment.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing multiple scrum teams.
  • Hands-on experience with technology deep dives and design processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of software architecture and design principles.
  • Ability to facilitate procedures, code reviews, and technical discussions.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
