Overview:

The roles in this job family manage program delivery from planning to launch at various levels of complexity, up to and including global, enterprise-wide initiatives.  They provide visibility and transparency leveraging program management best practices and tools. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manages end-to-end delivery of multiple, moderately complex programs within the E-commerce team
  • Works independently to manage cross-functional program teams.
  • Typically supports an SPL or subset of SPLs (e.g., Bangalore)
  • Communicates with project team, SPL leaders, and senior stakeholders
  • Supports Quarterly Planning & organizes participation of required participants
  • Co-facilitates (with Product) cross-team planning & coordination Scrum of Scrum or similar approach, Multi-Sprint Planning user story mapping, and multi-team release planning practices.  Emphasizes reducing delays & the coordination of handoffs & dependencies
  • Facilitates & ensures other BHN functions such as Security, Compliance, Legal, etc are engaged appropriately in order to minimize unknowns
  • Establishes a regular cadence with key leaders & stakeholder to make delivery risk/issues visible & drives mitigation of risks with key stakeholders
  • Leverages internal Agile Knowledge Bases
  • Regularly meets with Agile Coaches and effectively leverages them.
  • Ensures that teams understand agile level reporting techniques and key measures to provide visibility to progress & assist with planning events
  • Facilitates the establishment of a working agreement with SPL leads to meet needs of program(s)/L2s delivery success
  • Influences Product Management to regularly & effectively participate in Agile cadences
  • Influences Scrum Masters to cultivate whole team ownership of Sprint Planning, Sizing and Swarming to finish Stories
  • Works with teams to address ‘what if...’ scenarios such as handling unavailability of scrum team resources
  • Actively participates & helps facilitate sharing best practices & improvement opportunities within the Agile Program Management CoP & other applicable Communities of Practice
  • Facilitates & promotes cross-team end of Sprint Retrospectives & ensures cross-team improvement actions are identified & applied
  • Actively promote & seek guidance from the Program Management & Agile Coaching communities when an improvement opportunity is identified

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, MIS, Business, or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of experience managing technology programs, including 2-3 years in an agile environment
  • Program management concepts such as roadmaps & MSPs
  • Microsoft Office tools and tools such as Rally, Jira, etc.
  • Agile methods, structure of Scrum (roles, events, artifacts), as well as practices & patterns (e.g Scrum, Kanban, XP, ScrumBan)
  • Creation of L2s that are value oriented, target release to market in smaller chunks (ideally <4 months)
  • L2 Definition of Done & facilitates consideration of each component, it’s applicability & how to achieve it in order to build quality in
  • Ideally has completed a 'rotation' as a Scrum Master or equivalent for 2-4 teams for at least 10 sprints / iterations
